It's looking really spooky out there

The smoke from the west has been coming toward us. Yesterday it got so thick that we could no longer see the mountains surrounding our house. Today we can't really see beyond the edge of our property. The woods looks like it's just very foggy, but it's smoke. We're keeping the doors and windows closed because the air isn't healthy to breath.
I just took this picture of the sun. It has a hint of a copper collar.
Odd Sun
The deer and the other animals haven't bolted yet. Contrary to what the Bambi movie shows, animals rarely get trapped in forest fires. They leave the area long before the flames arrive. Our deer are still grazing right outside the house. So we don't really need to worry right now. It's when they and the other animals bolt that people should start gathering up food, clothing and pets and then getting out of there.
