In the DX version of Korana's Rose cottage, there are cabinets added to the display room (plus one in the study), that have animated doors. When I activate them the glass doors open as they should, but when I try to close them, the script that causes the doors to animate apparently gets caught in a loop. The doors keep opening and closing forever. Even if I leave the cell and return, the doors are still opening and closing.
Does anyone have any idea why this is happening and how it could be fixed? I tried the stopscript console command to stop the script, but that didn't work.
Hopefully this can be fixed because this glitch renders the cabinets useless. The only way to avoid the constant opening and closing of the cabinets is to leave them alone entirely.

I used those glass cases once in another mod and they drove me up the wall with that endless opening and closing.
The only solution I can think of is taking the KO_GlassDisplayScript from the glass closets in Solstheim Castle Lady's Chamber and Lady's Closet and attaching that script to the Rose Cottage glass closets, instead of the Dongle script. I don't know how well that will work in midgame, though.

I figured there wouldn't be a simple solution. If I decide to try that I'll need to have my characters move their clothes, crafting tools and everything else I added out of the cottage, uninstall, edit, then reinstall and move back in.

It never is simple, is it.

No, and I more than likely will do that because as the cabinets are now they are useless. Sooner or later I'm going to have things I want to put in there.
I'm not ready yet for Aeronwen to buy her pack donkey, but I may need to go grab one for this to help with hauling everything out of the cottage. She doesn't have a ton of stuff, but enough that she can't carry all of it out, even when using Feather enchantments.

What a pain.
Yeah, it really annoyed me that those closets were practically useless because they are so pretty. I was nervous about that when I found them in Solstheim Castle but they worked fine. Although they have the creaking door sound (fortunately that is a vanilla sound so that doesn't have to be added, to.) But I was happy to find them useful to display stuff.

One of the things I'm kicking myself over is the fact that I've had the DX version of the cottage installed since the day it was released, but as I mentioned in my blog the other day, I haven't used it at all since I had Aeronwen got through the House Redoran story and the main quest at a much faster pace. Had I used it even once I would have discovered this issue, fixed it, and wouldn't have to go through the tedious process of moving out and then back in now.
Oh well. That's how it goes. I think before I do anything I'm going to jump into the game and coc to the Lady's Chamber in Solsthiem Castle just to make sure those cabinets are working in my game as they should. I don't mind the noise as long as they don't get caught in the open/close loop.

I'm looking at both scripts from both mods, they are identical. I'm hoping there is no global variable involved because I understand nothing about global settings. It's weird that they work in the Solstheim Castle/

In my game the ones in the Lady's Chamber/Closet are also doing the endless opening and closing. So this quite the puzzle.

I'm not crazy about this option, but it's something that can be done when I really need shelf space. In a temporary save I disabled the glass cabinets, then placed a mahogany bookshelf from Morrowind Crafting there. The shelf can then be locked into place (or not). It seemed to take forever to place the shelf evenly against the wall, and I still wasn't happy with it in the screenshot, but it is an option for when Aeronwen has a bunch of those crystal eggs to put on display. Annoying!
The ones in the cottage are working for me,. but I don't have Solstheim Castle activated. I wonder if it is having two identical scripts with different names running at the same time. I could check that, as this is on my old computer so it's all testing as I move stuff to the new computer.
This is why I tend to avoid a lot of script heavy mods. They can get messed up or don't work. There is an older Phijamma bow mod that I don't use because they tend to cancel out the scripts on the two later bow mods and Westly Holiday bows.
That can work. It's sad you can't use the pretty glass cabinets.

Just did a test in my own game. I unchecked Solsthiem Castle, cleaned and repaired a test save, then tried to use the cabinets in the cottage and they still do the endless opening and closing. So at least on my end there some other issue going on.

I wonder if it is happening because the script isn't running, because the mesh has the doors opening and closing. Perhaps trying the startscript command might make them work.
StartScript "ARCGA_donglecasescript" for Rose Cottage
or
StartScript "KO_GlassDisplayScript" for Lady's Closet
I just checked and both sets are working for me. so far, that is.

I just checked the case in the questless Pegasus Estate. That cabinet uses a different script, but still has the endless open/closing issue.
I'll try the commands you posted and see what happens.
Edit: Tried the commands and the doors kept up with their opening and closing. So far the "disable" command is the leading solution to getting usable shelf space.
