I just saw this on my Twitter feed.
If the next single player Elder Scrolls game is in Valenwood, and if it requires Steam (and it likely will) which means I'll likely have to wait a decade or more for them to release a Steam-less version, so help me I'm going to break something!

Yeah, they've been awfully silent on where TES 6 is supposed to take place. Like we've had zero ideas.. but if this is a clue..
Hooo boi.
I personally want Elsweyr.. But there's a lot of places they can hold the next TES game. If we even see it in this life time with how they keep 'rereleasing' skyrim.

Yes it would be preferable if the next game was in a "non human" province, especially since the last two games in the series were the homes of the Nords and Imperials.
I know. Some of us are going to be running out of life with the amount of time this is taking. And with as long as it took for them to release a version of Skyrim that didn't require Steam, I'm not kidding, I might not live long enough to play the next game in the series.

Yeah.. It takes forever. I miss when we could just get a computer game, and install it. No launchers, no hub programs. Just.. THE GAME.
But everything needs a hecking community launcher these days unless it's on a console. x.x

Oh yes, the good old days when installation was simple. Now they make you jump through hoops.
If the next one is Valenwood and if I could play it right off the bat, I would probably never bother with ESO again. I hate the way the current crew of developers have trashed that game, but that is the only ES title that allows us to go visit Valenwood, Elsweyr, Blackmarsh, and other provinces that the single player games have yet to touch. The only reason I still log in is to enjoy the Valenwood setting. My Bosmers just sit somewhere and play their flutes.

I would like it to be Elsweyr, too.
Yeah, this stuff takes sooo long. It's not like they could have made it a few years after Skyrim, right?
One thing I dislike is the lore- either overturning lore, or adding in too much detail. No, I don't like that Mistress Dratha dislikes men simply because she lives forever from having a daedra heart and it is prophecied that a man will kill her. Or the Dust Adept, used to seem so spooky to me, naw, they are just Alteration specialists who kick up dust and threatened Hlaalu land (Ascadian Isles, I suppose) so they were driven away. I like my old headcanon, that Dust Adepts were Telvanni who specialized in maintaining the tombs of Ancestors and kept the connection through the Waiting Door open. Dust Adepts = Ancestral bones that kept the spirits of Ancestors close.

I agree that is just bad. When I played through that storyline I thought, "Is that really the best you could come up with?"

Another one that annoyed me was the summoning to life the emperor crab to protect Ald-ruhn from a world gate during the Oblivion crisis.
The first time I saw the inside of Ald Skar, I was very impressed, because it was a perfect kill zone. These Redorans really knew their strategy? Roll up the bridges, let the enemy flood in while the Redoran picked them off from the ledges. Hundreds of daedra could be slaughtered that way.
No, instead it's this strange story of resurrecting the crab and Ald'ruhn is ruined. What makes it bad are the lordinator fans. Oooo, Aaahhh.

TES writers proving once again that fans can write better plots and stories than they can.

I'm not saying that they should have had Dratha bitter about a previous relationship with a certain mer from House Dagoth but...on the other hand that really would have been juicy and most TES fans wouldn't have seen that coming.

I never played ESO (or any MMO), so this is the first I'm hearing about Dratha being given a sane reason for her misandry.
It just made sense to me that she was a bigot who never had to cut that shit out because she's a Telvanni Wizard Lord and the whole point of becoming a Telvanni Wizard Lord is so no one can tell you what to do.
